How amaranth is used in medicine

Amaranth is actively added to medicines and is used as an edible oil. The most frequent medical indications for its use for therapeutic purposes are:

  1. inflammatory processes and diseases of the genitourinary sphere;
  2. anemia, hypertension, atherosclerosis, angina, cholesterol lowering;
  3. diabetes;
  4. skin diseases( psoriasis) and burns, skin rejuvenation;
  5. wound-healing agent;

In the form of an oil, the amaranth plant is particularly effective as a stimulant of immunity, lowers cholesterol and fights against tumors. Squalene, which is part of its composition, contributes to the rapid recovery of skin with ulcerative diseases and eczema. Additional use of amaranth oil includes liver treatment, gynecological problems, tuberculosis and chemotherapy.

The cost of amaranth oil is high, but at home, its cooking is real. For a basis take 1 kg of seeds of a plant which are slightly fried in a frying pan and are crushed through a coffee grinder. Shredded seeds are poured into 1.5 liters of high-quality olive oil( the first cold pressing) and mixed, shaking. The closed tight container is hidden in a dark place for 3 weeks, shaking the contents daily.

At the end of the period, the resulting mixture is filtered through gauze( 5 layers) and a ready-made home-cooking oil is obtained.

Multiple folk recipes recommend the use of the plant for the removal of fungal diseases and scars, the treatment of eczema and herpes, as well as in the fight against acne. Amaranth in folk medicine is used in the form of infusions( internal and external use) and juice and make broths.

Useful properties of amaranth can also be used in a sprouted form, which contributes to the improvement of body cleansing and metabolic processes.

Below are a few examples describing the use of amaranth at home in the form of tinctures and decoctions to solve health problems:

Amaranth juice.

Juice( prepared through a juicer) in the proportion of 1 to 5 is useful for rinsing the throat and mouth cavity in case of tonsillitis, inflammatory processes on mucous membranes, tonsillitis. For common purposes, amaranth juice is bred with cream and every day three times one is drunk in the amount of one tablespoon.

Decoction.

Decoction restorative is prepared from 2 tbsp.l.dried leaves of amaranth( in a crushed form), inflorescences and the addition of roots, which are poured into 2 cups of boiling water. The broth is boiled for 15 minutes on a low heat. After cooling, amaranth broth is filtered.30 minutes before breakfast( lunch or dinner), the amaranth drinks three times a half cup.

Infusion of cold cooking.

Dry inflorescences and leaves are put in cold water in a proportion of 1 to 10 and left so for 20 minutes. After this, infusion of amaranth filter and drink before eating half the glass. The recipe is recommended for diseases of the stomach, problems with the intestines and digestive disorders. Infusion of fresh amaranth.

The crushed leaves of the plant( about 20 grams) are placed in boiling water( about 200 ml) and the water bath is boiled for half an hour. After cooling, strained amaranth infusion before meals take one third of the capacity of the glass 2-3 times per day.

To treat the urogenital system, fresh leaves( 3 tablespoons) are placed in 1 liter of boiling water. Amaranth infusion is prepared for 6 hours and every day inside is used one glass before going to bed.

Infusion external( for a bath).

Inflorescences and leaves( up to 400 grams) are poured with boiling water( up to 2 liters) and boiled in a tightly closed vessel for 15 minutes. After cooling, filter and add to the water in the bathroom.

Amaranth can not be used with

Amaranth does not harm with single use or consumption in small quantities( in the form of oil, flour, greens).The use of the plant for therapeutic purposes on a long-term basis has limitations.

Despite its useful properties, amaranth is not suitable for people suffering from cholelithiasis or urolithiasis, pancreatitis or cholecystitis in acute form, and also having an individual intolerance to the plant. If there are diseases, prescribe medications with the inclusion of amaranth or use it without the doctor's prior advice is not worth it.

Self-administration of drugs or tinctures with the inclusion of amaranth can exacerbate chronic diseases and worsen the work of unhealthy organs.
