The causes of the appearance of outgrowths on the fingers

Reasons for the appearance of growths on the fingers

Today, beautiful and well-groomed hands - this is not a luxury, but a necessity. They are always in sight and we often exchange handshakes to show our respect for another person. But what if the growths on the fingers appear? After all, such educations bring not only aesthetic problems, but also indicate the presence of health problems. The solution of this problem should begin with the explanation of the causes of the appearance of the build-up. Than we now also will borrow.

Are dermal growths on the fingers of your hands dangerous?

Skin on the finger can appear at any age. In medicine, this phenomenon is referred to as synovial bone or hygroma. Such outgrowths are similar in appearance to the bumps, inside of which is a viscous liquid.

Most often such build-ups are formed on the joint site or next to the nail plate. Their color may not differ from the primary color of the skin or be pale pink. The hygroma is most often observed in people, because professional activity is associated with heavy manual labor, for example, in masseurs.

However, a build-up on the finger may appear for other reasons. For example, with:

  • getting injured;
  • development of arthritis;
  • hereditary predisposition.

The most inclined to this disease are women. And the most interesting is that the synovial bone appears most often in young women aged 20-30 years.

Danger on the fingers

By itself, the build-up is not dangerous for human health, unless, of course, it is caused by the development of joint diseases. But to leave it without attention is still not worth it.

Symptoms of build-up on the finger

Synovial bone looks like a small cone, which is located either on the joint of the finger or near the nail. This cone has a solid structure, although in some cases it can be elastic.

Severity of symptoms directly depends on the size of the built-up edge. If it has just started to appear and has a small size, then no accompanying symptoms, except for the appearance of a cone, should not excite a person.

But with the growth of education can be unpleasant feelings. A person can feel a strong twitching pain and terrible discomfort. If the build-up appeared on the joint, then there are also difficulties in flexing the finger.

A synovial bone appears, as a rule, suddenly. At the same time, it can grow very quickly, reaching a couple of centimeters in size for only a few days. In some cases, the build-up grows very slowly and the person does not experience any discomfort. But if you press on education, you can feel a strong pain.

Treatment of synovial bone

Once you have found a build-up on your fingers, be sure to visit a doctor and tell him about your problem. Delay the visit to a specialist is not worth it, since often such knobs manifest malignant tumors. And if they have a place to be, early diagnosis will allow you to quickly get rid of the disease.

Treatment of synovial bone

Moreover, the synovial bone is similar in appearance to lipoma and atheroma, which are signs of very serious diseases. And in order to rule out the possibility of developing cancer and other serious illnesses, the doctor examines the build-up and assigns the following diagnostic examinations to the patient:

  • puncture( laboratory analysis of the build-up);
  • X-ray examination of the hand;
  • ultrasound education;
  • MRI.

Then, according to the results of the study, a physician can be assigned conservative or operative treatment of synovial bone. If the laboratory analysis shows the presence of malignant cells, then you will need to undergo chemotherapy after removing the build-up.

Conservative method of

If the synovial bone was detected at the initial stages of its development, the patient is assigned a conservative method of its treatment. For this, the following methods can be used:

  • application of paraffin applications;
  • mud application;
  • irradiation with ultraviolet;
  • electrophoresis.

In some cases, a build-up is required to remove the contents from it. After such a procedure, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic drugs are injected into the synovial bone, and a bandage is applied on top of it to prevent infection.

Operating method

Conservative treatment of synovial bone rarely leads to a positive result. Therefore, many doctors, in order not to lose time, immediately resort to surgical intervention.

The operation that is carried out to remove such outgrowths on the fingers is called a borectomy. During it, the hygroma is excised. The main indications for the operation are limited mobility of the finger on which the build-up is.

Only an experienced technician can perform this operation. Since in some cases the bottom of the synovial bone can be placed very high, and the doctor will need to remove it so as not to damage nearby vessels and nerve endings. Otherwise, the mobility of the finger may be impaired.

Operating method

A laser operation can also be used to remove a build-up on the finger of the hand. Unlike direct surgery, it has many advantages. First, after applying laser therapy at the site of removal of education, there are no traces and scars.

Secondly, the tissues that are located near the synovial bone are not injured, which prevents the development of various complications. After using the laser, the wounds quickly tighten, which contributes to a short period of rehabilitation. This treatment is performed under the influence of a local anesthetic.

Treatment of outgrowths with traditional medicine

If on the fingers of the hands there are growths, then it is also possible to fight them with the help of traditional medicine. For this, you can use:

  • copper plate, which must be ignited on fire and held in saline solution, and then fixed on a painful area with a bandage for 3 days( you can use a regular coin);
  • pieces of jellyfish that need to be applied to the build-up for 3 hours for several weeks;
  • cabbage juice, which is ingested 200 ml daily for a month;
  • a mixture of aloe, honey and rye flour, from which a cake is made and applied to the formation overnight;
  • a tea mushroom - it is also fixed on a finger with bandage and left for 10-12 hours.

Remember that the use of folk remedies is acceptable only if the appearance of a build-up on the finger is not associated with the development of any diseases. The positive effect of their use can be observed only after 2-3 weeks of regular use.

If all attempts to eliminate a build-up on the finger do not bring positive results, and its dimensions increase daily, it is required to consult a doctor immediately. Perhaps in your case only surgical intervention will help.
